the dragon

Once upon a time, in a far-off kingdom, there was a beautiful princess named Robyn. She was known throughout the land for her kind heart and adventurous spirit. Princess Robyn loved nothing more than exploring the woods around her castle, discovering new plants and animals, and befriending the people she met.

One day, while on one of her walks in the forest, Princess Robyn stumbled upon a fearsome dragon. The dragon was huge and had scales that shone in the sunlight. Its eyes were bright and its sharp claws looked like they could tear apart anything in its path. At first, Princess Robyn was frightened by the dragon’s appearance. She had heard stories of dragons that could breathe fire and destroy entire towns with a single blow. But as she looked into its eyes, she saw that it was not trying to harm her. Instead, the dragon looked sad and lonely.

Determined to help the dragon, Princess Robyn decided to approach it. She offered the dragon some food and water, and to her surprise, it accepted her offer. She spent the rest of the day talking to the dragon, learning about its life and the world it had come from. She learned that the dragon’s name was Eldrid, and that it had once lived in a far-off land that had been destroyed by a great storm. Eldrid had been the only survivor and had been wandering the forests ever since, searching for a new home.

Over the next few days, Princess Robyn visited Eldrid every day, bringing it food and water and talking to it about all kinds of things. They talked about their families, their hopes and dreams, and the adventures they had both been on. Princess Robyn felt a deep connection with Eldrid, and she knew that she had found a true friend.

However, as much as Princess Robyn loved spending time with Eldrid, she knew that the people in her kingdom would not be as understanding. Her father, the king, had always been wary of dragons, and he had made it clear that he would never allow one to live near the castle. Princess Robyn knew that if she wanted to keep Eldrid safe, she would have to find him a new home.

So, Princess Robyn set off on a quest to find Eldrid a new home. She traveled through forests and over mountains, talking to everyone she met and asking if they knew of a place where a dragon could live. She met knights, wizards, and even other dragons, but none of them could help her.

One day, while resting by a stream, Princess Robyn met an old woman. The woman was sitting on a rock, humming a tune that Princess Robyn had never heard before. When she saw Princess Robyn, the woman smiled and beckoned her over.

“Hello, my child,” said the woman. “What brings you to this part of the forest?”

“I’m on a quest,” said Princess Robyn. “I’m trying to find a new home for my friend Eldrid. He’s a dragon, and I can’t keep him near the castle.”

The old woman nodded. “I see,” she said. “Dragons are powerful creatures, but they can also be gentle and kind. It’s a shame that so many people are afraid of them.”

“I know,” said Princess Robyn. “But I won’t give up until I find a place where Eldrid can be safe and happy.”

The old woman smiled. “You have a kind heart, my child,” she said. “And I think I might be able to help you. Follow me.”

Princess Robyn followed the old woman deep into the forest, past trees and bushes she had never seen before. They walked for hours, until they came to a clearing. In the center

of the clearing was a beautiful cave. The old woman pointed to it and said, “This is where Eldrid can live. The cave is big enough for him to stretch his wings, and there’s a stream nearby where he can drink.”

Princess Robyn looked at the cave and smiled. “It’s perfect,” she said. “Thank you so much.”

The old woman nodded. “It’s the least I can do,” she said. “Now, go and tell Eldrid the good news.”

Princess Robyn rushed back to Eldrid and told him all about the cave. Eldrid was overjoyed and thanked Princess Robyn for her kindness.

The next few days were busy for Princess Robyn. She helped Eldrid move into his new home, bringing him food and water and making sure he was comfortable. She also made sure to visit him every day, telling him stories of her adventures and asking him about his life.

As the weeks went by, Princess Robyn became more and more fond of Eldrid. She loved spending time with him, and she knew that he felt the same way. They would often go for long walks through the forest, exploring new paths and discovering new wonders.

One day, while they were walking, Princess Robyn noticed that Eldrid seemed sad. She asked him what was wrong, and he told her that he missed his family and his home.

Princess Robyn felt a pang of sadness in her heart. She knew how it felt to miss home, and she wanted to do something to help Eldrid feel better. So, she came up with a plan.

She decided to organize a feast in honor of Eldrid. She invited all the animals in the forest, from the tiniest mouse to the biggest bear. She also invited all the people in the kingdom, even though she knew that some of them might be afraid of Eldrid.

On the day of the feast, Princess Robyn went to Eldrid’s cave to pick him up. Eldrid was surprised to see so many animals and people waiting outside. He was even more surprised when Princess Robyn told him that the feast was in his honor.

The feast was a huge success. There was food and drink for everyone, and the animals and people mingled together, talking and laughing. Eldrid was the center of attention, and he loved every moment of it.

As the night wore on, Princess Robyn noticed that Eldrid looked happier than he had ever been. She knew that she had done something special for him, and she felt a sense of pride in her heart.

When the feast was over, Princess Robyn and Eldrid went back to his cave. They sat outside and looked up at the stars. Princess Robyn felt a sense of peace wash over her as she realized how lucky she was to have a friend like Eldrid.

As she got up to leave, she turned to Eldrid and said, “You know, Eldrid, I think we make a great team. Maybe we should go on some more adventures together.”

Eldrid smiled and said, “I would like that very much, Princess Robyn.”

And so, Princess Robyn and Eldrid continued to explore the forest, discovering new wonders and facing new challenges. They knew that they were meant to be together, and they vowed to never let anything come between them. For Princess Robyn and Eldrid, their friendship was the most important thing in the world, and nothing could ever change that.
